T.C. 431+

DESCRIPTION

T.C. 431+ is a brown, granular, dustless, powdered alkaline paint stripper specifically designed for the effective removal of even the most difficult synthetic finishes. T.C. 431+ is free of any disagreeable odors and does not present disposal problems, as it is non-phenolic and is biodegradable. T.C. 431+ is usually effective on even the most difficult paints; however, pretesting on a small scale to ensure performance on the particular paint films being stripped is recommended. T.C. 431+ provides penetration, saponification and chelation to effectively remove the resinous binders and pigment, leaving a surface suitable for re-processing.

APPLICATION

T.C. 431+ is recommended for hot tank immersion use for most stripping applications in a concentration range of 1 to 2 pounds per gallon of water. For the more difficult jobs, a concentration nearer 2 pounds per gallon may be required. The solution should be maintained at a temperature of at least 180°F or higher and at a rolling boil to provide fast, effective removal of the finishes. Tanks and heating apparatuses may be constructed of black iron or stainless steel. T.C. 431+ is not recommended for use on soft metals such as aluminum or zinc, because a severe attack of the metal surface will occur. Stripping time will vary with the film's thickness, concentration of T.C. 431+ and solution temperature. On-site adjustments may be made to obtain optimum results. The chemical and physical make-up of the particular finish being stripped is also a definite factor controlling the required strip time. Pre-sorting of parts may be advantageous.

HANDLING AND STORAGE

Reseal container after use to avoid moisture contamination which will cause material to harden in the drum. Use normal storage procedures and wash thoroughly after handling.

AVOID ADDING LARGE QUANTITIES OF T.C. 431+ TO HOT WATER, AS FLASH BOILING MAY OCCUR. WEAR PROPER PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AT ALL TIMES WHILE HANDLING T.C. 431+ OR WHILE OPERATING STRIP TANK.

PRECAUTIONS

Contact with concentrate or solutions may cause burns to the skin and eyes. Wear protective face shield, vinyl or rubber apron, gloves and boots while working with T.C. 431+. If contact is accidentally made, flush contacted area repeatedly with water. In case of eye contact, flush for at least 15 minutes and call a physician. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
