DESCRIPTION T.C. 3 is a revolutionary fume suppressant for hydrochloric and sulfuric acids that performs with the aid of a foam blanket. T.C. 3 reduces the hydrogen gas produced in solution. Gas that is not produced cannot escape into the air. Hydrogen Chloride gas has been reduced to as little as 5 ppm in batch pickling operations where HCL is 15% w/v and temperatures are 140° to 150°F. T.C. 3 is added at a ratio of 1/2% to 1% based on the volume of concentrated acid (1/2 to 1 gallon for each 100 gallons of acid). It can be added directly to the raw hydrochloric storage tanks. TYPICAL PROPERTIES
FOAMING COMPOUNDS T.C. 20 This powder produces a detergent-type foam blanket on the surface of the pickling bath. No carryover to rinse bath. Use approximately 1/4 per 1000 gallons of bath solution. T.C. 30 A new, inexpensive liquid foamer. A water clear, neutral solution that produces a detergent-type foam. Effective in both Sulfuric and Hydrochloric acid baths. Use approximately 1 pint per 1000 gallons of pickling solution. T.C. 40 A liquid for use in Nitric-Hydrofluoric acids. ANTI-FOAM A new extremely anti-foam emulsion for preventing or controlling foam in pickling baths, rinse tubs, or lime tanks. 10 to 50 parts anti-foam per million parts of foamer is suggested. Approximately 8 ounces per 1000 gallons of bath solution. |
