DESCRIPTION
T.C. 1887 is a pigmented drawing compound in paste form. It can be diluted with water or used as received depending upon the severity of the draw. T.C. 1887 can be used in deep drawing where good hold-down characteristics are needed to prevent wrinkling and good lubrication will permit good metal flow without breaking. Difficult-to-draw objects such as bathtubs and sinks are formed with this product.
USE
T.C. 1887 is best applied with rubber rolls. Rolls should be set tightly in order to get a bite on the steel and to obtain a highly uniform microfilm coating. After drawing and forming, the working piece is cleaned in alkali pressure washing machines and/or soak tanks to remove the lubricant. It is 100% saponifiable. Acid pickling will completely remove any pigment left on the working piece, making it satisfactory for porcelain enameling. The proper use concentration can only be determined by evaluation at the press. In making water dilutions, mix thoroughly to obtain a uniform solution.
Freezing storage temperatures should be avoided because it will take an extremely long time to completely thaw the drum. Unless separation occurs, the frozen and thawed product should be usable.

SAFETY
T.C. 1887 is nontoxic, nonflammable and biodegradable. Under normal conditions, it should not be injurious to skin or eyes. In case of accidental splashes, wash well with water. If irritation occurs, seek a physician. Do not take internally. Use an emetic and see a physician if accidentally swallowed.
